Approx £30,000 per annum gross

Days & Hours:

Term time = 24 hours (39 weeks) 

  • Monday - Thursday: 3pm - 7pm 
  • Saturday: 9am - 1pm (Flexible)

1 x Weekend extended to 11pm Saturday

School Holidays = 40 hours (13 weeks) 

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 6:30pm

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • Minimum of 2+ years SEN childcare experience. 
  • Proven experience working with autistic children.
  • Genuine passion for play and engaging children in meaningful, creative activities.
  • Kindness and empathy, with the ability to approach children’s needs with patience and understanding.
  • Firm but fair approach when supporting both neurodivergent and neurotypical children within the household.
  • Strong sense of reliability and responsibility.
  • Able to bring confidence, stability, and the ability to manage the role independently.
  • Professional, supportive, and solution-focused.

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide attentive, consistent, and nurturing care for both children, supporting their emotional, social, and developmental needs.
  • Support B6 in his communication, self-regulation, and personal care routines, including teeth brushing, dressing, and bedtime routines using melatonin.
  • Reinforce strategies for B6’s ASD, including use of visual aids, social stories, repetition, and structured preparation to minimise surprises and support independence.
  • Encourage and facilitate B6’s interests, such as trains, books, and swimming, using them as opportunities for learning, engagement, and creative play.
  • Support G8 with organisational and daily living skills, including managing routines, helping balance responsibilities related to her brother, and creating space for hobbies and personal interests like karate, crafting, interior design, and Minecraft.
  • Assist G8 with practical academic support when needed, including homework and project management, while fostering confidence and independence.
  • Collect and transport children to and from school, activities, and clubs, ensuring timeliness and safety.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for the children, accommodating dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain household organisation relating to children, including tidying bedrooms, play areas, washing and organising clothes, and keeping the kitchen clean and ready for evening routines.
  • Monitor and support children’s schedules, including packing for activities, preparing uniforms, and ensuring necessary items are ready for the day ahead.
  • Support social, emotional, and play-based interventions, including play therapy techniques and the Young Carer programme, as appropriate.
  • Provide calm, structured, and loving support to help both children thrive within the home environment, reinforcing routines, boundaries, and positive behaviours.
  • Accompany the family on trips to their home in Spain, supporting both children in a different environment while maintaining routines, care, and engagement.
  • Be reliable, professional, and proactive, able to manage challenges independently while contributing positively to the family’s wellbeing.
